A Friend of Allah: Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as stating that Allah has said, “If anyone is hostile to a friend of Mine, I have declared war against him. No one draws near to me with anything dearer to me than what I have made obligatory for him. If my servant keeps drawing near to me with supererogatory acts I shall love him, and when I love him I shall be his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps and his foot with which he walks. If he asks from Me I shall certainly give him and if he seeks refuge in Me I shall certainly give him refuge.” (Bukhari Sharif)
Good News of Paradise: Hazrat Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari (Radi Allahu Anhu) said: When I was with Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) in one of the gardens of Madina and a man came asking that the gate be opened, Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Open it for him and give him good news of Paradise.” I opened the gate for him and found he was Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (Radi Allahu Anhu), and when I told him the good news Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) had given me he praised Allah. Another man came and asked that the gat be opened, and Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Open the gate for him and give him good news of Paradise.” I opened the gate for him and found he was Hazrat Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu), and when I informed him of what Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) had said he praised Allah. Another man asked that the gate be opened, and he said, “Open it for him and give him good news of Paradise after a trial which will afflict them.” I found he was Hazrat Usman (Radi Allahu Anhu), when I informed him of what Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) had said, “ Allah is the one whose help is sought.” (Bukhari Sharif, Muslim Sharif)
Morality & Social Awareness in Islam: Hazrat Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as saying, “Avoid sitting in the roads.” His hearers replied, “Messenger of Allah, we must have meeting places in which to converse,” so he said, “Well, if you insist on meeting (or sitting), give the road its due.” He was asked what the road’s due was and replied, “Lowering the eyes, removing anything offensive, returning salutation, recommending what is reputable and forbidding what is disreputable.” (Bukhari Sharif, Muslim Sharif)
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as saying on the same occasion, “And guiding people on their way.” (Abu Dawood)
Hazrat Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) quoted Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as saying on the same occasion, “Help the sorrowful and guide those who have lost their way.” (Abu Dawood)
Significance of Salutation in Islam: Hazrat at-Tufail Bin Ubayy Bin Ka’b (Radi Allahu Anhu) told that he used to go to Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) and accompany him to the market in the morning, and that when they came to the market in the morning Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) gave a salutation to sellers of goods of poor quality, people engaged in confirming a bargain, poor people, in fact to everyone he passed. Hazrat at-Tufail (Radi Allahu Anhu) said that one day when he went to Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) and he asked him to come with him to the market he said to him, “What is the point of your going to the market when you do not engage in selling, or ask about commodities, or offer a price for them, or sit with any company of people there? Let us sit here and talk.” He replied, “O plump one [Hazrat at-Tufail (Radi Allahu Anhu) was plump], I go out in the morning only for the sake of a salutation, saluting those I meet.” (Maalike, Baihaqi)
Sound Advice – In Islam: Hazrat Abu Zarr (Radi Allahu Anhu) said: I went in to visit Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam). He then mentioned the tradition at length till he came to the following: I asked Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to give me some instruction and he replied, “I enjoin you to fear Allah, for that will be the best adornment for everything that concerns you.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Engage in recitation of the Qur’aan and remembrance of Allah who is Great and Glorious, for it will be a means of your being mentioned in heaven and will be a light for you in the earth. “I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Observe long silence, for it is a means of driving away the devil and is a help to you in your religion.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Avoid much laughter, for it slays the heart and removes the light of the face.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Speak the truth, even if it is bitter.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “do not fear anyone’s blame when you are serving Allah.” (Baihaqi)
Result of Good Character: Hazrat Ali (Radi Allahu Anhu) told that Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) owed some dinaars to so and so, a Jewish doctor, who demanded payment from the Prophet. When he said to him, “I have nothing to give you, Jew,” he replied, “I will not leave you, Muhammad, till you pay me.” Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “I shall sit with you, then, “and did so. Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) prayed the noon, afternoon, sunset, final evening and morning prayers, and his companions were threatening and menacing the man, Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) being aware of what they were doing. They then said, “Messenger of Allah, is a Jew keeping you in restraint!” to which he replied, “My Lord has prevented me from wronging one with whome a covenant has been made, or anyone else. “Then when the day was advanced the jew said, “I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that you are Allah’s Messenger, and half my property will be devoted to Allah’s path. I swear by Allah that my only purpose in treating you as I have done was that I might consider the description of you given in the Torah: Muhammad Bin Abdullah whose birthplace is in Makkah, whose place of emigration is in Taiba (Madina), and whose kingdom is in Syria; he is not harsh or rough, or loud-voiced in the streets, and he not characterized by coarseness or lewd speech. ‘I testy that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that you are Allah’s Messenger. Give a decision about this property of mine according to what Allah has shown you.” The Jew was very rich. (Baihaqi)
When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (Radi Allahu Anhu) was mentioned in the presence of Hazrat Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) he wept and said, “I wish all my good deeds could compare with what he did on a certain day and a certain night. The night was the one on which he went with Allah’s Messenger (sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) to the cave and said when they reached it, ‘I swear by Allah that you will not enter it before I have first done so, for if there is anything in it I shall be smitten by it and not you.’ He then entered and swept it and found some holes in the side of it, so he tore up his lower garment and sopped them with it; but as two were still left he thrust his feet into them and told Allah’s Messenger (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) to enter. When he had done so Allah’s Messenger ( Sallalal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) laid his head on his lap and went to sleep. The foot of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (Radi Allahu Anhu) in one of the holes received a sting, but he did not move for fear Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) might awake. His tears, however, fell on the face of Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam), and he asked him what was the matter with him. He replied, ‘I have been stung.’ Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) then spat and the pain left him. The day was when Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) left this world and the Arabs apostatized (rebelled) and refused to pay Zakaat. He said, ‘If they were to refuse me a tether I would strive with them over it. I said, Successor of Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam), be affable and gentle to the people,’ but he replied, ‘have you who were a powerful man in the pre-Islamic period become weak in the Islamic period? The revelation has ceased and the religion has been perfected. Is it to diminish while I am alive?”

My brothers for the sake of Allah. We are reminded of the days of Iraq.
We use to stay at the madrassah of Bishr al-Hafi (Allah is pleased with him). And the Indians and Pakistanis would come and stand like this around the graves melodiously reciting this melody for which we would not know the meaning for. And they would say “Upon the chosen paragon of mercy a multitude of salaam. Upon the light of all the Prophets a multitude of salaam”. But we would not know the meaning of these words.
We questioned them, “Who are you?” They replied, “We are from Pakistan.”
Pakistan is the country of the beloveds of the Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him).
“Who are you?” We’d ask, “What is this you’re reciting?”
And we would go to the Masjid of Sayyidi Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilaani (Allah is pleased with him) and the Pakistanis and Indians would come. Like this they would say, “Upon the chosen paragon of mercy a multitude of salaam. Upon the light of all the Prophets a multitude of salaam”.
“Who are you? And what are these words you are reciting?” We would ask.
From amongst them we saw some students of knowledge and scholars who replied,
“These are the words of our Imam, Ahmed Rida Khan (Allah is pleased with him).”
So we questioned regarding Imam Ahmed Rida Khan.
And with the liked of Imam Ahmed Rida, we have a leader like the legend Imam As-Suyuti.
It is unheard of in the lands of the Arabs about a man that wrote so many books, sayings, poetry and thoughts that resembled Imam As-Suyuti (Allah is pleased with him).
But we were unaware that there was one present in India that resembled him, named Ahmed Rida.

The one that taught you the love of the Messenger (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him).
It is a miracle that after every prayer the Muslims stand, after every Friday prayer and after every gathering they stand to send peace and blessings upon the Messenger with the poetic couplets that were mentioned by Imam Ahmed Rida.
Even in Baghdad when we would listen to the Eulogisers praises of the Prophet Muhammad, the likes of Owais Qadiri and those with beautiful voices, they would be reciting poems written by Imam Ahmed Rida Khan.
We ask Allah to raise us amongst them. We ask Allah to place the reward of this gathering into the deeds of this Shaykh, of his Shaykhs, in the deeds of our Shaykhs and the noble Family of the Prophet.
O Brothers in attendance, glad tidings! Glad tidings!
He who is happy with the Prophet, the Prophet (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) is happy with him.
I don’t wish to exceed upon you. I say this and may Allah forgive me and you.
یومِ عاشورہ کے اعمال
از: محمد انصار احمد نوریؔ القادری ،رکن امام احمدرضامومنٹ علماء بورڈ و امام مسجد الحسینیہ ،ڈی جے ہلی بنگلور
عاشورہ کے دن روزہ رکھنا سنت ہے۔ اور بہت فضیلت رکھتا ہے۔ حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ مدینہ منورہ جب تشریف لے گئے تو یہودیوں کو دیکھا کہ وہ عاشورہ کے دن روزہ رکھتے ہیں آپ ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا یہ کیسا دن ہے کہ جس میں تم روزہ رکھتے ہو؟ انہوں نے کہا یہ وہ عظمت والا دن ہے جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے موسیٰ علیہ السلام اور ان کی قوم کو نجات دی اور فرعون کو اس کی قوم کے ساتھ ڈبو یا۔ تو موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے اس کے شکر یہ میں روزہ رکھا ۔ہم بھی رکھتے ہیں۔ تو رسول اکر ﷺ نے فرمایا موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے تم سے زیادہ حق دار ہیں۔ تو عاشورہ کا روزہ رسول اکرم ﷺ نے بھی رکھا اور اس روزہ کا حکم بھی فرمایا ۔(بخاری ۲۶۸ جلد ا ، مسلم صفحہ ۳۵۹ جلد ۱)
اور حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کہ رسول اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا مجھے اللہ سے امید ہے کہ وہ عاشورہ کے روزہ کو پچھلے سال بھر کے گناہ کا کفارہ بنا دے ( مسلم ۔مشکوٰۃ صفحہ ۱۷۹)حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی کہ جب رسول اکرم ﷺ نے عاشورہ کے دن روزہ رکھا اور روزہ رکھنے کا حکم فرمایا تو صحابہ کرام نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ! یہ وہ دن ہے کہ جس کی یہود اور عیسائی تعظیم کرتے ہیں تو رسول اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا اگر میں سال آئیندہ دنیا میں باقی رہا تو نویں محرم کا بھی روزہ رکھونگا (مشکوٰۃ صفحہ ۱۷۹) اسی لئے فقہائے کرام فرماتے ہیں سنت یہ ہے کہ محرم کی نویں تاریخ ، اور دسویں تاریخ کو روزہ رکھے۔اور سرکار اقدس ﷺ ارشاد فرماتے ہیں جو شخص عاشورہ کے دن چار رکعتیں اس طرح پڑھتے کہ ہر رکعت میں سورۂ فاتحہ کے بعد قُلْ ھُوَ اللّٰہ اَحَدپوری سورہ گیارہ مرتبہ پڑھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے پچاس برس کے گناہ معاف فردے گا اور اس کے لئے نور کا منبر بنائے گا(نزہۃالمجالس۱۸۱ جلد ۱)
حضرت شیخ عبد الرحمٰن صفوری رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ تحریر فرماتے ہیں کہ مصر میں ایک شخص رہتا تھا جس کے پاس صرف ایک کپڑا تھا جو اس کے بدن پر تھا اس نے عاشورے کے دن حضرت عمر بن العاصؓ کی مسجد میں فجر کی نماز پڑھی ۔ وہاں کا دستور یہ تھا کہ عورتیں عاشورہ کے دن اس مسجد میں دعا مانگنے کے لئے جایا کرتی تھیں ایک عورت نے اس شخص سے کہا اللہ کے نام مجھے کچھ میرے بال بچوں کے لئے دیجئے ۔ اس شخص نے کہا اچھا میرے ساتھ چلو ۔ گھر پہونچ کر اس نے بدن سے اپنے کپڑا اتار ا اور دروازے کی درار سے اس عورت کو دے دیا عو رت نے اس کو دعا دی خدا تعالیٰ تمہیں جنت کا حلّے پہنائے گا۔
مجالسِ محرم کے فوائد:۔
مجالس محر م سے کئی فائدے حاصل ہوتے ہیں۔ اول یہ کہ حدیث شریف میں ہے صالحین کے ذکر کے وقت رحمت الٰہی کا نزول ہوتا ہے اور خلفائے راشدین و امامین کریمین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم کی سنت ہے ماہ محرم کے پہلے دہا نے کے (پہلے دس دنوں میں )محفل منعقد کر نا اور واقعات کربلا پیش کرنا جائز ہے جب کہ صحیح واقعات بیان کئے جائیں کیونکہ ان واقعات میں صبر تحمل اور رضا و تسلیم کا ایک مکمل درس ہے اور پابندی احکام شریعت اور اتباع سنت کا زبر دست عملی ثبوت ہے کہ امام حسین رضی اللہ عنہ نے دین حق کی حفاظت میں تمام عزیزوں اور قریبوں اور رفیقوں اور خود اپنے کو خدا کی راہ میں قربان کیا اور جزع و فزع کا نام تک بھی نہیں لیا ۔ مگر اس مجلس میں صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کا بھی ذکر خیر ہونا چاہئے تا کہ اہل سنت اور شیعوں میں فرق ہو جائے۔قرآن خوانی،فاتحہ خوانی ،سبیل،محافل ،شہداء کربلاوغیرہ کا اہتمام کریں۔
