A Friend of Allah

A Friend of Allah

A Friend of Allah: Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as stating that Allah has said, “If anyone is hostile to a friend of Mine, I have declared war against him. No one draws near to me with anything dearer to me than what I have made obligatory for him. If my servant keeps drawing near to me with supererogatory acts I shall love him, and when I love him I shall be his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps and his foot with which he walks. If he asks from Me I shall certainly give him and if he seeks refuge in Me I shall certainly give him refuge.” (Bukhari Sharif)

Sound Advice – In Islam: Hazrat Abu Zarr (Radi Allahu Anhu) said: I went in to visit Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam). He then mentioned the tradition at length till he came to the following: I asked Allah’s Messenger (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to give me some instruction and he replied, “I enjoin you to fear Allah, for that will be the best adornment for everything that concerns you.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Engage in recitation of the Qur’aan and remembrance of Allah who is Great and Glorious, for it will be a means of your being mentioned in heaven and will be a light for you in the earth. “I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Observe long silence, for it is a means of driving away the devil and is a help to you in your religion.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Avoid much laughter, for it slays the heart and removes the light of the face.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “Speak the truth, even if it is bitter.” I asked him to tell me more, and he said, “do not fear anyone’s blame when you are serving Allah.” (Baihaqi)

  • Always be steadfast on the sacred Shari’ah. The greater one is obedient to the Shari’ah the higher one attains status in Tariqah.
  • Do work for the Religion for the sake of the Religion and do not do it for name and fame.
  • Engage in feeding food even though it is basic Dhaal and rice. There is great virtues and Barakaat in feeding.
  • Become a Veiler [Sat’taar – one who hides the faults of others]. Hide the faults of the Muslim, may they be religious or worldly.
  • Duniya is an evil thing. He who is tangled with it keeps on sinking into it. He who runs away from it , it remains at ones feet.
  • Salah and Fasts are from the essentials, but real religion is rectifying ones transactions.
  • Here [in Madina al-Munawwarah] the wise and elders say; ‘Constant performance of Salaah becomes a habit, by keeping Fasts, the cost of one meal is saved and religion is the name of rectification of dealings.
  • First Salaam , second feed food and third talk. When someone visits you, first greet him then feed him and lastly ask him the reason of his visit.
  • The Murshid who is dependent on the Murid, in my view, is not a Murshid.
  • To become a Murshid is very difficult and to be a son of a Murshid is very simple. Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala save us from becoming Sahibzadahs.
  • In obedience there is virtue and in innovation [Bid’ah] there is destruction. Be a follower and you will attain salvation.
  • In secrecy is salvation and fame breeds discord.
  • Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala has given the cursed devil great powers. It is only Allah’s (SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala) Mercy that can protect one from the evil of the devil.
  • The Spiritual Silsilah is only one that is the Qadiriyyah. The rest are its tributaries.
  • There is no harm in eating the bread of a miser. But one must abstain from eating anything from a Man’nan . May Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala protect us from the favours of a Man’nan.
  • There is no goodness in the sand of Najd, it has nothing but pure evil.
  • Do not give anyone a loan more than your financial capacity and don’t reveal the loan to anyone nor demand its repayment. If the creditor returns the loan regard it as a fresh sustenance from Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala.
  • Doing good deeds is a Toufeeq from Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala and a sign of acceptance. Guidance is certainly from Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala but a servant has to make efforts in doing good deeds.
  • A fortunate person is he whose letter is read in the sacred city of Madina al-Munawwarah or he is discussed with goodness there or his name is mentioned there.
  • Continue extolling the sacred name of ‘Ya Ghawth Ya Ghawth’. There are blessings of this sacred name in both the worlds.
  • Never recite the Darud Sharif with the intention of Ziyaarah. The beloved Habib SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam is not restricted to any human. If He (SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam) blesses anyone then it is His favour.
  • No greed, no rejection and no hoarding are virtue.
  • Wafa is either you bury your companion or he buries you in the ground.
  • Safeguard yourself from severe cold as it takes its grudge in old age.
  • Wealth is madness and seek Allah’s (SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala) protection from it as it take a long time to regain consciousness from it.
  • Fulfilling lust is a deadly companion and an evil habit. It is a lethal enemy.
  • Pride and boastfulness destroys the intellect.
  • Avoid relationship with your opposite specie.
  • Don’t ask Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala for abundance, If you have reliance then there is great abundance of Barkat in little sustenance.
  • Knowledge is achieved by seeking it; sitting in the company of the knowledgeable and also by Divine Inspiration.
  • Your Murshid is he on whose hands you have initially taken Bay’ah. Regarding Faydh , take it wherever you find it.

  • One must give charity according to the ones means and ability.
  • Never behave with severity and harshness as there is no goodness in it.
  • If anyone sits in Madina al-Munawwarah with justice and patience, then sustenance comes to him from all directions.
  • If anyone is caught in the net of a Najdi , he sinks to the depths of the ocean . If he is saved from this then regard it as a gift of a new life.
  • A poor man is a blessing and not a burden.
  • To educate an evil and incompetent person is to put the Ummah in discord.

  • Do not regard your enemy weak and sickness as insignificant.
  • Spiritual culture is not to hurt the feelings of anyone.

    1) To eat food when not hungry.

O Allah The Lord of this Ancient House. Free our necks and those of our parents, brothers and offsprings from the Fire. O Allah the Beneficient, Munificient and Supreme O Owner of Bounty, Grace, Favour and Kindness, let the consequences of our all affairs be for good and save us from the humiliation in this world and from the torment of the hereafter. O Allah I am Thy servant, the son of Thy servant, standing beneath Thy door. Clinging with Thy threshold. Afraid of Thy wrath. Humbly in Thy Presence. I pray for Thy Mercy and I fear of Thy punishment. O the Ancient Lord of Favour. O Allah I ask thee to accept my praises and to free me of my burden of sins. And to direct my affairs and purify my heart and enlighten my grave and forgive my sins. O Allah I ask Thee the higher ranks in Paradise. Aameen.

After Multazim, go to Maqam-e-Ibrahim which is in front of Bab-e-Ka’aba. Here offer two raka’at Namaaz wajib of Tawaaf. If the time of Namaaz is makrooh, then delay this Namaaz till the proper time. If there is rush at Maqam-e-Ibrahim, then this Namaaz may be offered nearer to the place or anywhere inside the Haram territory. If a person has delayed this Namaaz due to makrooh time, then he may perform another Tawaaf and offer the Namaaz of the two Tawaaf at the proper time. When the makrooh time is over then Namaaz of tawaaf should be offered before any other Sunnat or Nafl Namaaz.

Recite Surah Kafirun in the first raka’at and Surah Ikhlas in the second. Implore and beseech Allah for your betterment. This place is one of the appointed places of acceptance of prayers, then recite the following du’aa: Hajj – Prayer of Makaam-e-Ibrahim

After completing the seventh Tawaaf come back to Hajar-e-Aswad and kiss it or point towards it and kiss the palms and then reciting the takbeer for the eight time move towards Multazim. The walled place between Bab-e-ka’aba and Hajar-e-Aswad is known as Multazim i.e. the Sacred Place of Holding where Allah’s Messenger (sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) beseeched Allah with tears in his eyes. This is one of the appointed places of acceptance of prayers. Raise your hands up to the wall or hold the cover of Ka’aba and cry out to Allah from deep down your heart and ask for anything and pray whatever you wish either in Arabic or in you own language.

Devote the stay of Mina to praying and praising Allah. It is obligatory to pass the night of 10th and 11th Zil Hajj in Mina and to perform Rami of the three Jamrat on 11th and 12th Zil Hajj after Zawaal. For Rami, go to Jamrat with more than twenty-one pebbles, Strike seven pebbles on 1st Jamrah reciting the prayer mentioned before and then stay facing Ka’aba near it for five minutes praying for your welfare, then proceed to second Jamrah, strike seven pebbles and stay a few meter ahead from Jamrah for five minute prayer and then proceed to the last Jamrah i.e. Jamrat al-Uqbah, strike seven pebbles and return to your camp without staying or praying after it. For ladies and old persons it is allowed to perform the Rami even after sunset on 11th and 12th Zil Hajj otherwise it is makrooh.

THE LIMITATIONS

The Rami on 10th should be performed before Zawaal. It is sunset. But it is makrooh after sunset and forbidden after the dawn of 11th then a blood sacrifice is due to him as a penalty, which is known as Dum.

The time of Rami on 11th, 12th and 13th starts from Zawaal to sunset, from sunset to next dawn it is makrooh and forbidden after the dawn of next day. If a person could not perform it in the prescribed time, then a Dum is Wajib.

NAHAR. The sacrifice of animal for Tamattu and Qiran Hajj should be performed from the dawn of 10th to the sunset of 12th Zil Hajj, within the Haram territory preferably in Mina. If a person did it after this period or outside the Haram territory then a dum will be Wajib.

HALAQ. The head shaving or hair shortening should be performed from dawn of the 10th to the sunset of 12th within the Haram territory. Performing it after the prescribed period or outside the Haram territory will be subjected to a Dum. To perform Rami, Nahar and Halaq in the same order is also wajib. If a person performed Halaq before Nahar or Rami after Halaq then a Dum will be wajib.

The First Day of Hajj 8th Zill Hajj – Yaum-al-Tarwiah

The First Day of Hajj 8th Zill Hajj – Yaum-al-Tarwiah

It is called Yavm-e-Tarwiyya. If you are performing Qiran or Ifrad Hajj, then you are already in Ahram, which you wore at Meeqaat. If you are performing Tamattu Hajj and you have put off your Ahram after performing Umrah during Hajj season, then you should again put on Ahram on 7th or 8th Zil Hajj for Hajj. For this purpose take a bath, put on two white unsewn sheets, go to Haram Sharif and after offering two raka’at Nafl of Ahram, make the intention for Ahram of Hajj. If the time of Namaaz is makrooh, then the intention for Ahram of Hajj. If the time of Namaz is makrooh, then the intention may be made after Farz Namaz, without the Nafl of Ahram.

If you want to perform the Saee of Hajj before Vaqoof of Arafa then perform a Nafl Tawaaf with Ramal and Iztibah and then perform Saee with the particular intention of Saee of Hajj. But to perform the Saee of Hajj after the Tawaaf of Ziyarat is better.

On this day, you leave Makkaah for Mina after sunrise in the echoing atmosphere of Lab-baik-Al-laa-hum-ma Lab-baik. You feel yourself in, an angelic world, wave after wave of human races from all over the world flow and flood towards the barren plain of Mina. Speaking various dialects, they are all folded in the Sacred dress Ahram and utter the Heavenly call of Lab-baik.

This is the living miracle of the unity of Islam. Reach Mina preferably be attended in Masjid-e-khaif, in Mina, where Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu Alaihi Was Sallam) stayed and offered Namaaz. But if you are afraid of losing your camp, then offer the Namaaz withJamaat in you camp.

The old and weak and women should not go out of the camp unnecessarily, because there are hundreds of lost cases every year. When you go out of the camp, make sure that you have the card of your Muallim. Devote your stay in Mina to prayers. Darood Sharif and Astagfaar. Repent from past sins and resolve firmly to lead a pious life according to the command of the Almighty Allah and the Traditions of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).

The Tawaaf of Arrival to Makkah – Hajj

The Tawaaf of Arrival to Makkah

The first thing after reaching Makkah is to perform the Tawaaf of Arrival (for persons performing Hajj-e-Ifrad) or Umrah (for persons performing Hajj-e-Tamatt’u). If you have to perform Umrah then observe Iztibah (to take one end of the Ahram’s upper sheet from under the right armpit and drop it over the left shoulder) and Ramal (to walk with hastened pace moving the shoulders, in the first three circumambulations) in Tawaaf. If you are performing Umrah, then you also have to perform Sa’ee and Halaq (for persons performing Hajj-e-Tamatt’u).

When you reach a bit to the left of Hajjar-e-Aswad, stay there and intend for performing Tawaaf. The intention should be made in the following words:

BIS-MIL-LAA-HIR-RAH-MAA-NIR-RA-HEEM

AL-LAA-HUM-MA IN-NEE UREE-DU TA-WAA-FA BAI-TI-KAL HA-RAA-MI FA-YAS-SIR-HU LEE WA TA-QAB-BAL-HU MIN-NEE SAB-A-TA ASH-WAA-TIN LIL-LAA-HI TA-AA-LAA AZ-ZA WA JAL

In the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful. O Allah! I intend to perform Tawaaf (of Hajj or Umrah or only Tawaaf) of Thy Sacred House. Hence easen it for me and accept it from me. The Tawaaf of seven circuits, for Almighty Allah the Dignified.

After intention move towards right and reach in front of the Hajjar-e-Aswad and then raising the two hands up to earlobes say: In the name of Allah. If it is difficult to reach the Hajar-e-Aswad without pushing other persons, then raise the hands, palms facing Hajar-e-Aswad and then kiss the two palms saying the above words. Then you walk slowly, calmly and humbly towards Baab-e-Ka’aba and Hateem circuiting the Holy Ka’aba and reciting the prayers of praise and glory of Allah.
