The First Day of Hajj 8th Zil Hajj Yaum-al-Tarwiah

The First Day of Hajj 8th Zil Hajj Yaum-al-Tarwiah

Bismil Laa-hir.Rahmaa-nir-Raheem””Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

The days from 8th Zil Hajj to 12th Zil Hajj are called Ayam-e-Hajj (days of Hajj).

The First Day of Hajj (8th Zil Haj) Yaum-al-Tarwiah

Ehram and Intention.. generally, on 8th zil hajj determinants of hajj start to move towards Mina early in the morning after offering fajr prayer. So, on 8th zil hajj ehram for hajj is wore in Makkah Mukarama. (Because of crowd, it is fine to wear ehram on 7th zil hajj and move towards Mina). It is preferred to wear the ehram of hajj from Masjid Haram and offer two nafal with the intention of ehram of hajj. Read Surah Al kafiroon in first rakat and Surah Al ikhlas in second rakat as it is preferred. However, other surah can also be recited. Pray to Allah after offering nafal. Intend for hajj after reading the following prayer in heart:allahumma inni yuridul hajja fayasiruhuli wataqabbalahu minniI intend to perform Hajj; make it easy for me and accept it from me.” Read talbiyah after intending for hajj: Labaik allahumma labaik, labaik la sharikalak labaik, innal hamd wan naymata lakaval mulk ,la sharikalak

Here I am O Allah, (in response to Your call), here I am. Here I am. You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner. Now, the ehram of hajj has started and the same restrictions are imposed on you which were imposed during the ehram of Umrah.

Five Prayers in Mina.. after wearing the ehram of hajj, you will go to Mina on 8th zil hajj. It is sunnat to offer 5 prayers in Mina today which means Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, isha’a of 8th zil hajj and Fajr of 9th zil hajj. Remain busy in remembrance of Allah, offering nawafil, reading darood pak, and reciting Holy Quran during other time. Try to offer some prayers in Masjid Khaif because according to some sayings seventy thousands Prophets (A.S) has offered prayers in this Masjid. This is the masjid of Mina and according to some sayings, seventy thousand Prophets (A.S) buried here.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

The Blessings of the Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The Blessings of the Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah
-الصــلوة والسلام‎ عليك‎ ‎يارسول‎ الله ﷺ

On the authority of Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allahu Anhu), the Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi waSallam) said: “There are no days more beloved to Allah that He be worshiped in them than the ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Each day of fasting in it is equivalent to the fast of an entire year. And each night standing in prayer is equivalent to standing in prayer on the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr).” [Jaami’ al-Tirmidhi, Vol. 3, Hadith 758]

Also due to the stature and merits of these days, Allah swore by them when He said:
“By oath of the (particular) dawn. And by oath of ten nights. [al-Fajr: 1-2],”

and in them, He bestowed many of His bounties on His Prophets. Hadrat Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) relates that in the ten days of Dhul Hijjah, Allah accepted the repentance of Prophet Adam (Ala Nabiyyina wa Alayhis Salam), and in it Prophet Ibrahim (Ala Nabiyyina wa Alayhis Salam) became the intimate friend (khalil) of Allah
“…And Allah made Ibrahim His close friend. [al-Nisa: 125].”

Hence, he submitted his wealth to the two noble guests (i.e. the angels sent to the people of Lut [Hud: 69-79]), his soul to the flames, his son to sacrifice, and his heart to the Most-Merciful One (al-Rahman). In it the Prophet Musa (Ala Nabiyyina wa Alayhis Salam) was also honored with the following call, “Said Allah,
“O Moosa! I have chosen you from mankind by (bestowing) My messages and by My speech; so accept what I have bestowed upon you and be among the thankful.” [al-A’raaf: 144],” and Prophet Dawud (Ala Nabiyyina wa Alayhis Salam) was granted forgiveness, “We therefore forgave him this; and indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode. [Saad: 25].”

The reward for Answering the Azaan

The reward for Answering the Azaan

Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad Sallal Laahu Alaii Wasallam addressed an audience of women saying, “O women! When you hear Bilal giving the Azan and the Iqaamah, then repeat what he is saying because Allah The Most Exalted will grant you a hundred thousand rewards for each word, elevate your status by a thousand ranks and will forgive you a thousand of your sins.” The Women asked, “This is for the women, what about the men? The Prophet Sallal Laahu Alahi Wasallam replied, “For the men it (the reward) is doubled.” [ibne Asakir]

It is worth nothing, that in the Azaan of the Fajr Salaah thereare seventeen words and in Azaan of remaining Salaah there are fifteen words. Thus, if a woman answers the Azaan for Fajr, she will attain 17,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 17,000 ranks and 17,000 of her sins will be forgiven. If she answers the Azaan of the remaining four Salaah, then she will reap 60,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 60,000 ranks and 60,000 of her sins will be forgiven

If she has answered the Azaan for all the five prayers then she will gain 77,00,000 rewards  her status will be raised by 77,000 ranks and 77,000 of her sins will be forgiven.

For men the reward is doubled. Meaning the men will be granted 1,54,00,000 rewards, their status will be raised by 1,54,000 of their sins will be forgiven. Therefore, if a woman answers the Azaan and Iqaamah for one Salaah for one Salaah then she will attain 85,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 85,000 ranks and an equal number of sins will be forgiven.

As for men, they will attain 1,70,00,000 rewards, their status will be raised by 1,70,000 ranks and equal number of sins will be forgiven.

Now adding the reward for answering both the Azaan and the Iqaamah for women is 1,62,00,000 along with her status being increased by 1,62,00,000 times and an equal number of sins being forgiven. As for men, the reward for answering  the Azaan and the Iqaamah is 3,24,00,000 with an increase in status of 3,24,00,000 times and an equal number of sins being forgiven.

Glorify be to Allah! This is only the reward for answering the Azaan in one day, which requires no money to be spent, nor any effort. If a believer makes a habit of this, then there is no end to the rewards he would gain.

However, our fellow Muslim brothers nowadays do not take any interest to learn and acquire the correct Islamic Knowledge and hence, do not gain the benefit of such rewards. In the present day and age, because women are not Allowed to go to the Masjid to Prevent corruption, they should answer the Azaan at home and if they live in close proximity (such that they can hear the Azaan) then they should also answer the Iqaamah

Said Yazid al-Ruqashi ‘I have heard it said that when the deceased is set in his tomb his works amass around him and are given to speak by Allah, so that they say, “O bondsman, alone in his pit! Your family and friends are now separated from you, so that today we are your sole companions.”
