The reward for Answering the Azaan
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad Sallal Laahu Alaii Wasallam addressed an audience of women saying, “O women! When you hear Bilal giving the Azan and the Iqaamah, then repeat what he is saying because Allah The Most Exalted will grant you a hundred thousand rewards for each word, elevate your status by a thousand ranks and will forgive you a thousand of your sins.” The Women asked, “This is for the women, what about the men? The Prophet Sallal Laahu Alahi Wasallam replied, “For the men it (the reward) is doubled.” [ibne Asakir]
It is worth nothing, that in the Azaan of the Fajr Salaah thereare seventeen words and in Azaan of remaining Salaah there are fifteen words. Thus, if a woman answers the Azaan for Fajr, she will attain 17,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 17,000 ranks and 17,000 of her sins will be forgiven. If she answers the Azaan of the remaining four Salaah, then she will reap 60,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 60,000 ranks and 60,000 of her sins will be forgiven
If she has answered the Azaan for all the five prayers then she will gain 77,00,000 rewards her status will be raised by 77,000 ranks and 77,000 of her sins will be forgiven.
For men the reward is doubled. Meaning the men will be granted 1,54,00,000 rewards, their status will be raised by 1,54,000 of their sins will be forgiven. Therefore, if a woman answers the Azaan and Iqaamah for one Salaah for one Salaah then she will attain 85,00,000 rewards, her status will be raised by 85,000 ranks and an equal number of sins will be forgiven.
As for men, they will attain 1,70,00,000 rewards, their status will be raised by 1,70,000 ranks and equal number of sins will be forgiven.
Now adding the reward for answering both the Azaan and the Iqaamah for women is 1,62,00,000 along with her status being increased by 1,62,00,000 times and an equal number of sins being forgiven. As for men, the reward for answering the Azaan and the Iqaamah is 3,24,00,000 with an increase in status of 3,24,00,000 times and an equal number of sins being forgiven.
Glorify be to Allah! This is only the reward for answering the Azaan in one day, which requires no money to be spent, nor any effort. If a believer makes a habit of this, then there is no end to the rewards he would gain.
However, our fellow Muslim brothers nowadays do not take any interest to learn and acquire the correct Islamic Knowledge and hence, do not gain the benefit of such rewards. In the present day and age, because women are not Allowed to go to the Masjid to Prevent corruption, they should answer the Azaan at home and if they live in close proximity (such that they can hear the Azaan) then they should also answer the Iqaamah
